November Tag

Hello Everyone,

Just a very quick post here to show you my November tag, see Tim's original Here where he shows you exactly how to create the effect.

I made this with the help of my dear friend Anne who loaned me a couple of her blueprint stamps to use and she also gave me the little anchor charm at the top.

This was the first time I had tried this blackboard technique and I was really pleased that it came out right.

The Nautical star was stamped and cut out then layered up to give it depth, and the Voyage label at the bottom was mounted on white card and the edges distressed with a distress tool so they stood out.

workshop gallery

Hi Everyone,

Firstly can I say a huge welcome to my new follower Claire, great to have you aboard.

I promised some of the ladies that have attended my card classes over the last few weeks that I would showcase their hard work so here they are

Firstly Friends cards made using the Indigo Blu Poinsettia and Friends stamps. The ladies picked out their favourite colours of distress stains to get the different looks that made the card their own.

Not Just for Christmas Workshop Oct 2013

Next we had a collection  of 8 Christmas cards  that were done from a stamped master sheet
Lets Start Christmas Workshop Nov 2013

This was one of those wonderful mirrors from a well known Swedish furniture store which we altered with texture paste and inks, and screwed onto the front of it was an 8 x 8 canvas holding a few inky atcs using different techniques.

You've been framed workshop Nov 2013

Well done ladies, I am proud of you all.

A bottle of Orange

Hello Everyone,
Thank you as always for your visit, I really appreciate it.
Today I am posting my entry for this months Indigo Blu forever 21 challenge which has the theme of Chocolate Orange which you can find Here.  I fancied doing something a bit different to a card and was inspired by a feature by Helen Chilton in this months Craft Stamper magazine who was showing how to decorate glass bottles.
I found this little bottle on a stall at a local fair last weekend and it had no stopper but I really liked the shape of it and thought it was perfect for this project.

I started by stamping the Indigo Blu Poppy stamp onto tissue paper with Stayzon then painting the flowers from the back with acrylic paints.  I used matte medium to stick it to the bottle and left it to dry.

I used the hair from the Indigo Blu Juliet stamp to stamp all 4 sides of the bottle with versamark, then sprinkled gold embossing powder over it.

I stamped again over where I did the gold, again with the Juliet stamp but this time using flitter glu and gilding flakes this added a lovely collection of colours that complimented the colours of the flowers.

I found a cheap wine bottle stopper that had been floating around the house for years and was never used as wine always seems to come with a screw cap these days so I claimed it.  I forgot to take a before photo, but it was just plain silver in colour which looked odd so I got to work colouring it with my alcohol inks orange & butterscotch.  The top was just a plain cube so I gave it some interest with a few small jewellery discs I had in my stash, and a beaded chain around the shank.

I used more of the beaded chain wrapped around wire, and more jewellery pieces together with an inked ribbon to decorate the top of the bottle.
The little butterfly is the one that was an Indigo blu freebie in Craft Stamper sometime last year and was stamped on acetate with stayzon.  When it was dry I dabbed the back with flitter glue and rubbed gilding flakes over it.

This picture shows another couple of small finishing touches, frantage in the centre of the flowers and a length of flower ribbon on the bottom.

I had better get a wiggle on now as I have a workshop tomorrow morning and have not completed the prep yet! one day I will be organised.

Krafty Trees & Baubles

Hi Everyone,

Sorry once again for being missing from blog land, where does the time go, I cant believe it is 3 weeks again since I last posted.  If there is anyone still out there, THANK YOU for dropping by, and I promise I will try harder and post more often from now on.

I wanted to show you a couple Christmas Cards I designed for a workshop recently.

The First class was called Oh! Christmas Tree

They are put together using a stamped master sheet using Adirondack stream ink and a Cling music score stamp that I have had for a while. We made a dry and then heat embossed master sheet using a 6 x 6 emboss folder (embosilicious let it snow) the raised emboss was coloured by gently tapping an ink pad over it, and then clear embossing powder with a little glamour dust mixed into it was heat embossed over the top.

The tree die cut is die-sire Fir tree set cut from different white card and embossed or glittered.

The core card mat is harbour side and the sentiment stamp is one from woodware tiny phrases.

The 2nd card is an idea that was a hit with quite a few of the ladies and the technique can be used with any die that is even on both sides like a bauble for example.

The stamped master sheet was used as the background with this card and the tree dry embossed with the same folder as the first.  A hougie board was used for the decoration on the pot and the ribbon is a piece of the core card cut with a wave trimmer blade.

The card was finished with a few diamante embellishments.

This next class was called Baubles to you!

Again I chose my almost signature blue and was inspired by a feature in the November edition of Craft stamper.  I put the 8 x 8 scalloped base card into an a4 embossing folder that i got free with my ebosser and at the same time I embossed a cut piece of centura pearl paper that was matted onto black card.  the baubles are individual stamps from creative expressions and they were die cut using the matching spellbinders dies.  The background paper on the right hand card was stamped using the Indigo blu baroque bauble stamp and four nail head embellishments were put in each corner over the bauble rings.  One large bauble was mounted onto black glitter card and the other one was dry embossed then heat embossed with black embossing powder.

Last but by no means least - Krafty Christmas
These were made up using lovely quality Kraft card I picked up from a local show.  The Indigo Blu Poinsettia stamp  has been used on the left hand card  mounted on a white Dolley and the waste from the two floral ovals cut for the right hand card was used offset and mounted onto red core card stock.  The stag in the centre is Indigo blu again 'looks like rain dear'.  I used chunky white frantage here and there to add a little subtle interest in the blank spaces and the cards and they have all been given a vintage look with distress ink.  I have used my favourite stamp (simple sayings) for the sentiments, I love the font on these stamps, and I think it is just perfect to compliment the style of the cards.
